The Teaching Bit logo: seven colourful Bit characters sitting around a hand-drawn circle

The Teaching Bit creates evidence-informed English and literacy resources for KS2 primary teachers.

The Teaching Bit is run by primary teachers. Between us we've taught across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, led literacy and maths, worked in leadership, and moderated writing beyond our own schools. We're postgraduate-qualified in leadership and literacy, and still in classrooms.

That experience shapes everything we make. We know how a sequence has to build to hold together, and we know the difference between a resource that fills a lesson and one that moves a class forward. Children make progress in small steps, taken with them, with someone alongside believing they'll get there. Our resources are built to support exactly that.

We're starting with literacy and writing. Maths follows, then the wider primary curriculum, and the catalogue will keep growing from there.

Everything we make is curriculum-aligned, clearly sequenced, and ready to teach from with confidence. We take the time to get each resource right, so it works for you and works for your class.

That's what The Teaching Bit is for: more time for the teaching bit.

What guides every resource

Three things we won't compromise on

Evidence-informed

Grounded in what the research says about how children learn, across literacy, maths, and the wider primary curriculum. If it's in a resource, it's there for a reason.

Purposeful

Our programmes build knowledge in a deliberate order. Our standalone resources earn their place on their own, each one solving a real classroom problem well.

Classroom-ready

Designed to be taught, not adapted. Slides, notes, and structure arrive finished, so your evening stays yours.

See it for yourself

The quickest way to judge a resource is to teach with it. Grab a Freebit, or head straight to the shop.
